Welcome to On the Spectrum Art, art classes for Autistic children.
Art can be an effective way to communicate. Art can also fulfill sensory needs of children on the autism spectrum. Neurological differences in wiring can interfere with a child’s ability to learn basic skills such as reading and writing as well as advanced skills of organization, time management and memory.
About Us
Jackson and I
My son and I always drew together, ever since he was a baby. As he grew, his love for drawing grew as well. He has watched me over the years creating art for other people, as I am a professional artist. My son Trey (not on the spectrum) is quite the young artist at 13, also sits and draws with Jackson. I noticed he is at his true best when he is creating something. His love for art is parallel to mine. I'd like to share that love of art with you and your children as well. Teaching them, guiding them in a world full of art that could help them learn about themselves and find new way to express what they couldn't before. Self control and regulation, motor skills, interaction with others. All things art...I believe can help those on the spectrum.

KIDS PAINT PARTIES
Looking for a different type of party for your child? Kids painting parties not only expose kids to
the joy of creating but also the self-confidence of expressing themselves through art. The best part? Each child takes home their very own masterpiece! We can bring the paint party to you, a local park, or at your favorite cafe or restaurant. Our kid’s parties are recommended for children 7+. Everyone is sure to have a great time learning to paint, with no experience needed!

How to get started
Once you contact us and decide what class your interested in. We will discuss your child, their skill level and what needs they have. While some classes are designed for a group setting, some may need one on one. We will try to accommodate everyone's needs if possible. You can scroll down to our Download section.

Art Classes 1
These are a more open session with less instruction. Supplies included
Drawing Basics

This is a 5 week class in learning how everything is a shape and putting them together.
Finger Painting
$150
This is a 5 week class. This is fairly basic. Finger painting for self expression. They also have the option to use brushes and other items .
Arts & Crafts
$150
This is a 5 week class. Each class we will pick a project and finish it to completion.

These classes are more structured with direct instruction. Supplies included.
Learn to DRAW

This is a 5 week class.
The fundamentals of drawing..
This class is essential for the budding artist. Learn all the basics and more. draw such things as animals, characters, and still life. While learning drawing principles such as line, shape, texture, color, shading and design. In addition, class lessons are developed to encourage personal expression and creativity so that each student produces a unique finished piece.
How to draw COMICS*
$200
This is a 6 week class. Learn to draw like MARVEL and DC. figure drawing, perspective, pencil and ink work, then on to color. By the end of this course you will create your own full comic page.
Color pencils for beginners

This is a 5 week class. In this class, you will learn color theory, line work, techniques in coloring and blending.
Acrylic painting for beginners*

This is a 5 week class. Acrylic painting made easy. Prepping the canvas, learning brush strokes, blending, light source...simple techniques for the beginner.
Rock Painting
$25 per person
Join in on the national trend of rock painting. This is a once a month event.
Family classes

This is designed to allow for some bonding art time with your child. This will be a once a month event.
